KIMOTO has been in business for 58 years. Our business, which started from developing aerial films, has been expanding to the graphics services mainly for the large plate cameras. Moreover, our paper and coated film products, which are mainly for architectonics and drafting, were applied for the general business usages during a high-growth economy.

In 1990s, the high economic growth came to an end because of the computer based business, and each industry needed to be changed on their business styles. Along with this change, the usage of our film products was also changed. In 2000s, our film products have got an attention worldwide and improved our business performance- especially the electric industrial film, KIMOTECT (Protection film for the printed, circuit board), LIGHT-UP (Diffusion film for LCD backlight), and KB-FILM (Protection film for a touch panel) were contributed to our growth.
In 2008, our business performance was down due to the world economic crisis. We sincerely apologize for this happened to our equity shareholders, business partners, employees and their families.
Looking back to our past, we were pleased to overcome the maelstrom of outside economic changes, with those PEOPLE around us. Now, we are all corporate to make a good progress for our business recovery.
It is recognized that there are many Japanese companies which have been in business for more than 100 years, and the number of those companies is more than that of western companies.
As for KIMOTO, 100 years are still long journey to achieve. Now that we believe that the knowledge and experience from this business difficulty will help us in the long run, and we could succeed this experiences to our successors. From this aspect, it is a big chance for us.
It has been taken a new look at Japanese corporate culture. We believe that the "company is family" philosophy is one of the good aspects of Japanese companies. So we KIMOTO will make an effort for continuous development with contributing to society and the world peace. |
